Wedding Makeup Looks 2016
Not sure how you want your makeup to look on your big day? My advice: don’t stray too far away from your everyday makeup. Sure, you want to be a little more glam, but you also want to look and feel like yourself. Perhaps just choose one feature that you really want to showcase and play it up a bit.
Wedding makeup in the past few years has had a bit more of a natural look, resembling the girl next door. This also rings true for hairstyle trends. Because you will be captured in hundreds of photos, you do want your foundation to be layered on a little thicker than usual, but you don’t necessarily need bright colored lipstick and really rosy cheeks to bring out the best in your features.
My personal favorite wedding makeup trend is having natural colored lips and cheeks, with a subtle smokey eye. Of course, the darker your features, the darker you can go. For fair skinned and blonde women, you might want to consider using a brown liner for your eyes, the bottom lid in particular.
In order to get a flawless application, prepare your skin in the months before the wedding by exfoliating and using lots of moisturizer. You might even consider going to a spa and getting a few facial treatments. No matter how good your makeup is, if your skin isn’t smooth and hydrated, you won’t get the perfect look that you’re going for.
When done right, smokey eyes can be amazing, even on your wedding day. They look particularly stunning on women with darker features and hair, but when applied right, smokey eyes can be amazing with any hair color and complexion.
Lashes! Long and lush lashes will always be in, so don’t count out using the fake ones to accentuate those big beautiful eyes. Applying fake lashes can be quite tricky, so unless you’re hiring a pro, get some practice in with them first:
If it’s your lips that you want to show off with an amazing hue, play down your eyes a bit with natural tones:
A bronzer is always a good idea, especially for a spring or summer wedding because the harsh light of the camera can make you appear paler than you really are:Your eye makeup is probably your most important choice when it comes to your wedding day because it can dramatically change your look:
